IAQRadio: Best and Worst Things of 2020

The Hope for Homes bill, currently in the Senate, will provide both immediate and long-term initiatives to save the residential energy efficiency contractor industry from hardships incurred from COVID-19. Through grants for training, residential contractors will immediately gain access to online training designed to prepare them to conduct home energy efficiency retrofits. These grants will allow contracting businesses to rehire and re-invest in their employees during the economic downturn. The Home Energy Savings Retrofit rebate program would then act as a stimulus to encourage homeowners to undertake energy retrofits of their homes and drive demand for these highly trained workers.

This will result in the creation of local jobs. When this bill passes, it will put people back to work and afford a new group to take training and equip them with the ability to gain employment with existing companies or be their own boss and start their own company.
