In an earlier post, “Notes from the Field During a Pandemic”, we heard from an HVAC company and its response to the COVID-19 pandemic. With stay-at-home orders in effect all across the country, it is both a challenge and an opportunity to create new ways to interact with current and potential customers, while maintaining a safe work environment for everyone.
Energy Circle’s founder and CEO Peter Troast brought together a panel of industry leaders to discuss how their companies are relating to three types of customer, typical during these days of hope and anxiety, excitement and depression. Welcome to “C’mon in Jim”, “Cautious Kristina”, and “Hell No Helen”. Panelists included Elena Chrimat of Ideal Energy (below left), who presents an actual, dramatic and at the same time humorous, recorded conversation with a “Hell No Helen”; Keith O’Hara of Eco Home Performance Builders (above); and Kevin Brenner of Healthy Home Energy & Consulting (below right). The panelists discuss everything from acquiring personal protective equipment (PPE) to making their customers feel okay about workers climbing in their crawlspaces and attics while they are sheltering at home.
You might call the panel discussion, “Making the Best of a Bad Situation”. But the actual title is “How contractors are coping with different homeowner types during COVID-19”.
